APRIL / May —Port Weller / Niagara River / Lake Ontario

 

April and early May are hot for Lake Ontario salmon and trout on the south shore of Lake Ontario. The outflow of the Niagara River attracts feeding salmon and trout.

King and coho salmon are in abundance during this spring feeding frenzy. Great catches of spring kings 8 to 25lbs occur all along the Ontario side of The Niagara River. Our departure port puts us right in the centre of the action a scant 1/2 mile from Port Weller

 

The Lake Trout fishing is extraordinary with limit catches almost a daily occurrence.. Size well they are starting to get to the trophy size with several every year in the mid twenty pound range. Last year a 40lbs Laker was caught by a local St. Catharines angler!
